Registration & Weigh-Ins

  • Pre-registration is encouraged, but you can register up until the day of the contest.
  • Registration & weigh-in will be from 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. and also from 5:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. at the Kimmel Center. You only have to weigh in once.
  • You will be assigned a weight class and turn in your posing music. After all registrants arrive, everyone will be given contestant numbers.
  • ALL COMPETITORS ARE REQUIRED to attend a competitor's meeting at 6:30 p.m. At the meeting we will discuss the evening's agenda, make important contest announcements, and answer any last minute questions you might have about the competition.

Music

  • Competitors must supply their own 90 seconds of music recorded side A of a cassette tape.
  • Cassette tapes will be collected at the registration and weigh-ins.
  • Music should have no vulgar lyrics.

IMPORTANT: The contest music must be the only music on the tape, must be on side A, and the tape should be rewound to the beginning of the tape. The music should be 90 seconds or less in length so if the song you have chosen is longer than 90 seconds, please record only the portion of the song you wish to use. We ONLY will have audio equipment available for cassette tapes, so do not bring a CD. Please follow these rules so you will have music for your individual routine.

Judging Criteria

A panel of 5-7 experienced and qualified judges will be assessing each competitor's physique based on: muscular development, overall body shape and symmetry (the balance between the upper and lower body and the left and right sides of the body), proportional balance between various body parts, and muscle definition.

Mandatory Poses

The mandatory poses are generally the deciding factor in contest placement because competitors are directly compared to their fellow competitors in each respective weight class. The 10 poses listed below will be the mandatory poses for this contest. You will be asked to perform these poses in the order they are listed. Each weight class will start facing the audience in a single row across the stage.

  1. Front Double Biceps
  2. Front Lat Spread
  3. Front Abdominal & Thigh
    (quarter turn to the right)
  4. Left Side Chest
  5. Left Side Tricep
    (quarter turn to the right)
  6. Back Double Biceps
  7. Back Lat Spread
    (quarter turn to the right)
  8. Right Side Chest
  9. Right Side Tricep
    (quarter turn to the right)
  10. Most Muscular

Individual Routines

  • Posing routines no longer than 90 seconds, performed individually or as a couple.
  • NO PROPS ALLOWED

Individual routines are designed to let you showcase your body and the hard work you have done to be in top shape for the contest. Posing routines also can be used to break a tie after the mandatory poses. Your routine should reflect confidence, show off your strengths, and represent your personality. The idea is to incorporate basic poses into a fluid routine. Good posers control their bodies effortlessly, artistically interpret the music, and involve the crowd. Pose without straining, grimacing or shaking. Your job is to impress, not to frighten! Generally you should hold poses for a full two or three seconds so the judges obtain accurate assessments. In addition to the judging criteria outlined above, judges will also be judging your artistic presentation. Please remember to be discreet and non-offensive in your posing routines (i.e. no moon poses).
