Moderated by Sharon Cooper, current lesbian-publications editor and former Co-Chair of South Africa's Lesbian and Gay Pride, this South African panel includes activists Shuaib Rahim, Executive Committee, Amnesty International South Africa; Evert Knoesen, Coordinator, Lesbian and Gay Equality Project; Glenn de Swardt, Manager, Triangle Project -- the oldest gay and lesbian organization in Africa. The program focuses on the history of apartheid, constitutional protection, AIDS in South Africa, and contemporary life for gay South African blacks and whites.
