World premiere of JIM IN BOLD, and National Role Model Award: Friday, May 2nd
The Kimmel Center

On Friday, Equality Forum presented the premiere of its second documentary, JIM IN BOLD, directed by Glenn Holsten, to a packed house at The Kimmel Center. JIM IN BOLD weaves two stories -- first, the life and homophobia-induced suicide of James Wheeler, a young gifted poet and artist, from Lebanon, Pennsylvania. The second story documents a road trip by Young Gay America, determined to show that experiences are changing for GLBT youth. JIM IN BOLD shows the tragedy of homophobia, and the resiliency and energy of today's young gay people.

Following the film, Equality Forum presented its annual National Role Model Award to the founders of Young Gay America, featuring tributes through live performances. Later, a youth reception was held at the Exuberance! gallery at The University of the Arts.
