Just weeks after our nation was
stunned by the events of September
11th, 2001, Senator Rick Santorum
of Pennsylvania endorsed a solicitation
for money for an anti-gay organization
called Alliance for Marriage (www.allianceformarriage.org).
Santorum starts "I know it
may sound like a huge exaggeration,
particularly in light of the recent
attack on America, but this
may truly be the most important
letter I ever write you."
Apparently, the "threat"
of same-sex marriage was greater
than mourning those we lost in the
worst terrorist attack our nation
has ever seen.
While Alliance for Marriage states
that contributions are tax-deductible,
Santorum refers to the group as
a "political organization"
-- donations to political organizations
are not deductible according to
law.
The first two pages are Santorum's
endorsement of Alliance for Marriage.
The next four pages consist of a
letter from the organization's executive
director. The last page is a response
form.
