Volker Beck

Volker Beck is the father of the modern German gay civil rights movement. He has led legislative efforts that provide German gays and lesbians with protection from descrimination to same-sex marriage and benefits. Since 1994, Volker Beck has served in the Bundestag (Germany's Congress) since 1994. Volker is a member of the Committee on Internal Affairs.

Beck is a spokesman for both the advisory board of the Hessian Hardship Fund for Victims of National Socialist Injustice and the Lesbian and Gay Association in Germany (LSVD). Beck is a member the Nazi Victims Support Centre and a member of the German Peace Society - Association of Conscientious Objectors; Humanist Union; SOS Racism; Cologne AIDS Support; and Société des Amis du Louvre.
