Two anti-gay organizations to protest National Celebration.
Fred Phelps (Westboro Baptist Church) and Repent America have announced their plans to protest the National Celebration on May 1. Westboro Baptist Church is responsible for the horrific images on the right, showing CHILDREN wearing messages of hatred.
Equality Forum is initiating a fund-raising drive through Sunday, May 1, as a direct response to the presence of these two anti-gay hate groups.
Together, let's announce to these hate groups how much money THEY helped raise to support equality! Any donation, no matter how small, will make a difference!
All contributions will go to distributing Equality Forum's documentary films JIM IN BOLD and Gay Pioneers.
Equality Forum will send copies of these award-winning documentaries to schools, libraries and fair-minded organizations. JIM IN BOLD shows how hate can kill, and how more and more young people are taking brave steps in coming out. Gay Pioneers documents the origins of the organized gay and lesbian civil right movement, with the first annual and organized demonstrations in 1965.
Your tax-deductible contributions will enable Equality Forum to continue distributing teaching materials to schools and organizations, and counter the hateful messages so many children receive about GLBT persons.
