Old City is about a 10-15 minute walk from most Center City locations, and is easily accessible via public transit.

Subway/El and Subway-Surface Trolley:

Take SEPTA's Market-Frankford El (blue line) to 2nd Street or 5th Street. (Subway-surface (green line) riders can make a free transfer to the Market-Frankford line at 30th Street Station.)

Regional Rail:

All SEPTA regional rail trains stop at Market East station, at 10th & Market Streets. Old City is a 5-minute walk east along Market Street.

Bus:

Several SEPTA bus lines serve Old City.

PATCO from New Jersey:

Take PATCO to 8th & Market Streets (first station stop in Philadelphia). Old City is a 5-minute walk east along Market Street.

Amtrak:

Amtrak serves Philadelphia's 30th Street Station. From here, take any eastbound SEPTA regional rail train to Market East (two station stops). Your Amtrak ticket grants free travel between 30th Street and Market East.

Driving & Parking:

Old City is easily accessible from all major highways.

I-95 Southbound: Take exit 22, Central Philadelphia/Independence Hall, 2nd Street south.

I-95 Northbound: Take exit 20, Columbus Blvd. Turn left (towards Penns Landing). Follow signs for historic area, or park at Penn's Landing.

I-676 Eastbound: Take the Ben Franklin Bridge / 6th Street exit.

I-676 Westbound: Bear left after the bridge and take the 8th Street southbound exit. Take a left on Race, Market or Chestnut Streets to enter Old City.

Street parking is free on Sundays but very limited. There are many paid parking lots in and around Old City. Penn's Landing has ample parking on Columbus Boulevard at Walnut and at Market Streets. $15 allows you to park all day.

If you will be driving in, we recommend parking at Penn's Landing. Take I-95 to exit 20 (Columbus Boulevard), turn left onto Columbus Boulevard northbound, and follow signs for Penn's Landing Parking at the Great Plaza. There are lots at Walnut and Market Streets.
